I’m a creative leader living my values.
I set the tone.
On an executive level and a wrenching level.
For the work. For the people. For the culture.
This means I’m as comfortable sitting in the control tower as I am flying the plane.
That said, I’ve never sat in a tower of any kind nor am I qualified to fly a plane. I bring a special blend of playfulness and action to the creative process.
Fortunate to be culturally led, I’ve done a fair bit of living. Enough to always trust my taste.
Back to those values:
Industriousness.
Time to think.
Seeing people. Really. Drawing out the best creative in others.
People-first approach.
Creative ambition.
Sartorial escapism.
Direct, thoughtful, and clear communication.
Mentorship.
Taking care of each other.
Soundtracks.
Being in a state of play.
Clarity above all. Seeking it, cultivating it, and implementing it. (Shoutout to Sandi Preston for teaching me that motto.)
Leaving things nicer than how they’re found. (Catch me wiping down airport bathrooms. Shoutout to my Mom for that one.)
Leading with empathy.
Buying it once. Creating lasting quality. Railing against disposable nature and waste. (I think about this a lot in our current content climate.)
Watching the credits.
Lighting.
Context.
Following the fun. (In life and work. Could not be more serious about this one.)
Patronage of the arts IRL.
The art of observation. Choosing to be in awe and wonder.
Learning.
Storytelling.
Style.
Nuance.
The why not the what.
